Friday night was full of rock and roll goodness at “Wally’s House Of Booze” as there was a quadruple header happening with “Rich And Rare Rebels”, “Not All There”, “Angie And The Car Wrecks” and headlining the activities was “Calabrese”.
“Calabrese”, from Phoenix AZ, stopped by Wally’s in the middle of their “American Rebels Death Rider” tour between their Seattle and Vancouver BC dates. The band was founded in 2003 by brothers Jimmy Calabrese on bass and vocals, Bobby Calabrese on guitar and vocals and Davey Calabrese on drums. They have released five CD’s and were touring in support of their latest album “Born With A Scorpion’s Touch”.
“Calabrese” started their 75 minute set with “Ghostwolves” and “Born With A Scorpion’s Touch”.
The energy in the room that night was pretty incredible as evident by the crowd in the video’s. Thanks go out to Tiffany who saved Jimmy’s microphone many a time as it was hit by members of the enthusiastic crowd and she got to sing a little back up as seen in the following video. Also note that at the 1:29 mark the video shakes, I and the P.A. speaker took a hit from the crowd but hey, that’s punk.
I do believe too, that “Calabrese” was a bit surprised as to how much partyin’ energy was flowing through the crowd. Small town, small bar but we like our punk. It was obvious that the band was having just as much fun as the crowd, maybe even more.
Many thanks go out to “Calabrese” for stopping by our little town and to “Snatchee Records” and “Andy” for getting them here and to “Wally’s House Of Booze” for allowing them a place to play. Kudo’s to you all.
Until next time, GO TO A SHOW…YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO.
